The badge of House Blackspear.

“Or, a spear sable between two flaunches Sable each charged with a chalice Or.”

 The Black and Gold  are the household colors representing the colors of the Lance of Longinus, the Lance that pierced Christ to end his suffering. This is symbolizing the enternal soldier through SCA combat.

As with all things, change occurs. With more members joining and old ones retireing, people moving about the country or world there came a need to distinguish house branches and functions.

House Blackspear which is the parent household. Mostly us retired or inactive folks and includes the active portion which is House Blackspear New Gaurd loacated at http://house-blackspear.org/ .

This original house badge, shown above, has been registered and passed and will not change.  Each house can create their own devices representing thier individuality or function as recently done by the Active unit here in northern Atlantia.
